Gunning for success

Tranmere have completed the signing of highly-rated Blackburn Rovers defender Gavin Gunning on a one month loan deal.

The young Irishman is expected to go straight into the starting eleven for Saturday's season opener away to Yeovil Town for which Rovers have only one central defender available, that being youngster Ash Taylor.

Meanwhile, boss John Barnes will not be pursuing his interest in trialists Sam Oji and Brian Saah.
