Les
upbeat despite defeat

Caretaker Manager Les Parry is confident Tranmere are
progressing despite seeing his side go down to an, albeit
unlucky, 1-0 defeat at Hartlepool on Saturday.
Rovers dominated the early proceedings at Victoria Park and saw
two efforts cleared off the line during the course of the game.
Despite that, a goal in the closing stages of the first half
gave the home side the points and a late red card for Charlie
Barnett meant that it was a far from enjoyable journey home.
Despite
that, Parry was heartened by his teams display, and is also
hoping match referee Gary Sutton has a change of heart over
Barnett's dismissal.
Parry
told the waiting media at full-time:
“I said
before the game that the one thing I was confident of was
getting a good performance from the team, and we certainly saw
that. We had some good chances. Some set plays we had
worked on came off, and were kicked off the line.
“I said to the lads that I will not react to results but to
performances – and that was one of our best of the season. We
can only take positives from it. The organisation in the
team is better, although we are still making the occasional
silly mistake.
Regarding the sending off, Parry said:
“I could
not work out why Charlie was sent off. I will be having another
look at the incident on the DVD. I actually thought the referee
wasn’t going to give a foul at first.
“We will ask the referee to have another look at it and
hopefully we will be willing to change his mind.
“If he sticks to his guns we will just have to accept it.”
