Round-up: Latest on Carole, Bain, Mahon, Savage

The transfer window opened again last week, but so far little
has happened at Prenton Park.
As
reported in December, French winger Sebastien Carole has left
the club after a totally pointless tenure on the Wirral.
Brought in by John Barnes earlier this season, the former Leeds
United man made only two appearances before disapearing into
obscurity.
He could
yet return to haunt Rovers again this season though. He
has pitched up on trial at former club Brighton who clearly see
more in him than Tranmere's coaching staff did. He has now
had that trial extended, although the Seagulls have released
another trialiast - George O'Callaghan (remember him?).
Kithson
Bain will not have his loan at Blue Square Conference side
Kettering extended. Town boss Lee Harper is to pursue
other options instead and the Grenadian is now back training
with Rovers for the time being, although Chester City is a
rumoured potential destination for Kithson should they sort some
of their problems out.
Some
good news for Rovers is that midfielder Alan Mahon is available
again after more than a month on the sidelines with injury.
The Irishman wad due to be involved at Gillingham on Saturday,
although with that game now postponed he will have to wait a
little longer.
The
weather is also delaying Bas Savage's long-awaited return.
The striker has been sidelined since last April with an achilles
injury but is now back in full training and awaiting reserve
games for match practice.
