Rovers
play another poor Gigg as nightmare continues

Another game, another pitiful performance,
another defeat. Rovers' nightmare start to the season
continued as they were dumped out of the Johnstones Paint Trophy
away to League Two side Bury.
The
Shakers were without several key players, not least strikers
Andy Morrell and Andy Bishop. It mattered little though as
Craig Curran's well-taken early goal was cancelled out midway
through the second half before ex-Tranmere winger Mike Jones
netted the winner for Bury inside the final five minutes.
Ian
Goodison had hit the post as Rovers pushed forward whilst Ash
Taylor had a goal correctly ruled out for offside deep in
stoppage time. Indeed, it could have gone differently for
Rovers, with Curran also missing a couple of chances, but at the
end of the day it wasn't enough.
Barnes
had made a few changes too, out went Shuker, Ricketts,
Thomas-Moore and McLaren, in came Bain, Curran and finally a
start for Charlie Barnett. Alan Mahon also played the
central role many have been crying out for him to play.
It
mattered little.
The fans
voiced their disapproval for Barnes and McAteer from the off,
even despite taking the lead. Things remain far from rosy
in the Tranmere garden, whilst in his after match interview
Barnes said there is yet to be any talks between himself and
Chairman Peter Johnson in terms of the recent form.
It's
difficult to even write a full report on tonight. You
seriously do wonder where the next draw is coming from, let
alone a win.
