Trialist Soley plays in reserves defeat
Wednesday 19th August, 2009
By Richard Ault

John Barnes has handed a trial to former Preston North End defender Seyfo Soley, the Gambian centre half featuring for Rovers' second string against Walsall tonight.

It wasn't the most convincing display from the 6ft 2in Soley who has also had trials with Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion and Motherwell in the last 12 months.

New signing Michael Ricketts also featured for Tranmere alongside the likes of Terry Gornell and Charlie Barnett.

It was the Saddlers that took the win though, former Wales full-back Rhys Weston drilling a free-kick past Joe Collister to send the spoils back to the Midlands.
