Wembley 2000: The final - Radio commentary and interviews
Friday 26th February, 2010
By Richard Ault

As we continue our celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Worthington Cup final, we turn our attentions to the final itself.

Thanks to our friends over at Radio City, find below some fantastic audio clips that will have you smiling, crying and starring into space remembering that proud day ten years ago.  After listening, keep scrolling down to see what else we have to come this weekend.

As with the semi-final, click the link below to listen to the clip, it should open in your default media player.  Alternatively, right-click the link, and 'Save Target As'.

Still to come...

Rather than reproduce an old match report, I think we can all remember what took place on the day.  Despite the result, there were so many magical memories to take away that day, and for some people, that weekend.

Instead, throughout the next day or two we will publish different bits that we have put together or found in the archives from the day itself.

Here is what we still have in store yet this weekend:

  • Exclusive interview with Andy Parkinson

  • Fans memories from the final  (you can still submit yours by emailing editor@thecowsheds.co.uk)

  • Photos from Wembley

We’re still working hard to try and secure another couple of bits too, so they may follow into the early part of next week.

Every article we publish here thecowsheds.co.uk has a comments form at the bottom – why not make this truly interactive and post some of your memories as well?  We will then have a permanent online record of your memories and recollections of a historic time in Tranmere’s history.

Alternatively, email any photos or submissions to editor@thecowsheds.co.uk
